MERCURY ADDS 14-YEAR WNBA PROFESSIONAL TULLY BEVILAQUA TO STAFF


PHOENIX AZ-- The three-time WNBA Champ Phoenix Mercury today revealed the enhancement of WNBA expert Tully Bevilaqua as an assistant coach in advance of the 2023 WNBA season. Bevilaqua joins returners Nikki Blue and Cinnamon Lister on head coach Vanessa Nygaard's team. Originally an undrafted freelance from Merredin, Western Australia, Bevilaqua began her WNBA career in 1998, playing 14 periods with the Cleveland Rockers, Portland Fire Chris Stoll Jersey, Seattle Storm, Indiana Fever and San Antonio Silver Stars. Bevilaqua, who was a teammate of Nygaard's while with Portland, made 2 WNBA Finals appearances with the Seattle Storm and Indiana Fever and won a championship in 2004. She was the 2007 winner of the WNBA's Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award, offered each season to a player who exhibits the suitables of gamesmanship on the court, consisting of ethical behavior, fair game and Head Coach Vanessa Nygaard: "We are thrilled to include Tully Bevilaqua to our training personnel. As a pro in Australia's Women's National Basketball Organization, Bevilaqua was a three-time Champion, winning in 2002 with the Perth Breakers and two times with the Canberra Capitals in 2006 and 2007.
